The Uzbekistan Satellite Campus Entrance Ceremony
On 31 October 2017, the Uzbekistan Satellite Campus held an entrance ceremony for its successful applicant to the Transnational Doctoral Programs for Leading Professionals in Asian Countries. The newly enrolled student, Mr. Igor Tsay, will be undertaking his doctorate studies through Nagoya University’s Graduate School of Law. Mr. Tsay works in the Center for Public Law Studies, University of World Economy and Diplomacy as the deputy director.

The event, which was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, was well attended by representatives from Uzbekistan and Japan. Professor Katsuya Ichihashi, of Nagoya University’s Graduate School of Law and Mr. Tsay’s academic supervisor, and Professor Isa Khamedov, of the Professor of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and Director of the Center for Public Law Studies, both gave welcoming speeches that were well received by all in attendance. The Director of the Asian Satellite Campuses Institute, Professor Fumio Isoda, was unable to attend the occasion. Instead, Professor Isoda sent a video message, which congratulated Mr. Tsay on his entrance into the program and encouraged his further studies.
While in Uzbekistan, Professor Ichihashi organized an International Joint Conference on Administrative Law in cooperation with the Korean Legislation Research Institute (Korea), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ, Germany), the Ministry of Justice and Tashkent State University of Law (Uzbekistan). The conference, entitled “The Principle of Administrative Court Procedure and Administrative Procedure and the Codification of Administrative Law” was from 1 to 3 November.
