The Cambodian Satellite program is comprised of three separate campuses located within our partner institutions. The main Cambodian Satellite Campus office is located on the 2nd floor of the Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC), at the Royal University of Phnom Penh. The core function of the main satellite office is to coordinate the operation of the three satellite campuses with Nagoya University, and provide advice and support to prospective and currently enrolled students. Each of the three satellite campuses also works directly with the relevant graduate schools at Nagoya University’s main campus to provide academic and administrative support for participating students. 

At present, there are four graduate schools from Nagoya University active in Cambodia through the ASCI program. They work closely with partner universities offering four fields of study as below:
 

    ・Law:   Graduate School of Law (GSL) - Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE); 

    ・Medicine:   Graduate School of Medicine
    ・Agriculture:    Graduate School of Bioagricultural Sciences (GSBS)- Royal University of Agriculture (RUA); and
    ・International Development:   Graduate School of International Development (GSID) - Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP).

In October 2014 three students began their studies in the ASCI program. Two of them belong to GSBS, majoring in the fields of animal science and plant pathology, respectively. The other student belongs to GSID, majoring in the field of educational development. All three doctoral students presently hold key positions in their ministries, ranging from office head to department director. Upon graduation, they are expected to play important and active roles within the Cambodian government. Because the ASCI program is research-based, each candidate regularly meets with their local advisors in Cambodia and main advisors in Japan through a video conference system. They are also required to travel to Nagoya University’s main campus in Japan for intensive academic consultation once a year for approximately one or two weeks. In addition, their main advisors in Japan also visit them in Cambodia on an ad-hoc basis whenever necessary.
