About the Graduate School of Law Transnational Doctoral Program
The Transnational Doctoral Program for Leading Professionals in Asian Countries is a distance education initiative, built upon the Nagoya University Graduate School of Law's fifteen-year experience with human resource development in support of legal and judicial reform in Asian countries. The program now has students studying law and political science from Cambodia, Laos, Mongolia, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.

Admissions Requirements
The program is tailored to the needs of officials in the legislative, administrative and judicial sectors, as well as university faculty in the fields of law and political science in a country where the Graduate School of Law (GSL) is operating through ASCI.
Eligible candidates are expected to have at least three years of work experience in a relevant field or position, and wish to pursue an LL.D. through GSL.
Eligible candidates are also expected to hold a master's level degree from a recognized institution and demonstrate that they can conduct doctoral level research in the English language.
Admitted candidates will carry out their research and dissertation work in their home countries, while continuing to fulfill their work commitments.
Degree Offered
The Transnational Doctoral Program for Leading Professionals in Asian Countries aims to create specialists in law and political science equipped with a high degree of practical ability, using their research skills cultivated at the masters level and refining their degree of specialization. LL.D. - Degree of Doctor of Laws (Comparative Law)
Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate, the student is expected to have spent three years in the LL.D. program. The student must also submit a doctoral thesis in English after receiving the necessary supervision in doctoral research, as well as pass an examination of the submitted dissertation by their supervisory panel.
